The founder, Yakshi Malhotra is passionate about educating creative talents all across the world. With an extensive background of experiences across different roles in the knitwear industry, she embarked on this journey of education, by simply sharing her knowledge and insight from a place of pure passion and joy. This quickly became a beautiful community of students who were eager to learn and develop their skills to further support their projects.
The Knit Academy took shape from this journey. It was established to make learning resources easily accessible to students across all levels to support them in their creative journeys.
Working with big fashion houses such as McQ by Alexander McQueen and DKNY, freelancing for swatch companies, overlooking sampling at a manufacturer, working with small brands, and teaching at Universities have all carved the path to this online academy. A place where students can gain an insight to all aspects of knitwear to better prepare them for their journey in the industry.
